Ingredients

  • 1 small onion finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 lb ground beef cooked and drained
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 15 oz can cut green beans drained
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Frozen tater tots enough to cover the surface

Instructions

Prepare the Oven and Baking Dish

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8- or 9-inch square baking dish and set aside.

Cook the Beef Mixture

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the diced onion and minced garlic until the beef is fully browned and the onions are softened. Drain excess fat.

Season the Beef

  • Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly.

Assemble the Hotdish

  • Transfer the seasoned beef mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly to form the bottom layer.

Add the Sauce and Vegetables

  • Pour the cream of mushroom soup evenly over the beef layer. Arrange the drained green beans on top and season lightly with salt and pepper.

Add Cheese and Tater Tots

  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the green beans. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.

Bake

  • Bake uncovered for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy and the cheese is fully melted.

Serve

  • Remove from the oven and serve immediately while hot.
