Ingredients

  • Shrimp: 450g / 1 lb – The star of the dish, rich in protein and quick to cook. Honey: (30g / 2 tbsp) – Adds the sweet element that balances the spice. Soy Sauce: (45ml / 3 tbsp) – Deepens the umami flavor of the marinade. Garlic: (3 cloves, minced) – Essential for that aromatic kick. Olive Oil: (15ml / 1 tbsp) – Helps to sear the shrimp beautifully. Salt & Pepper: – To taste, enhances the overall flavor.
  • Cooked Rice: 360g / 2 cups – White or brown rice for a satisfying base. Sesame Oil: (15ml / 1 tbsp) – Infuses the rice with nutty, rich flavor.
  • Lime Juice: 30ml / 2 tbsp – Adds brightness to the sauce. Chili Paste/Sriracha: (15ml / 1 tbsp) – Provides a spicy kick. Honey: (15g / 1 tbsp) – Balances the heat in the chili lime sauce. Soy Sauce: (5ml / 1 tsp) – Rounds out the sauce’s flavor. Lime Zest: (From 1 lime) – Intensifies the citrus zing.

Toppings:

  • Sliced Green Onions Fresh Cilantro, Sesame Seeds, Lime Wedges – Add freshness and crunch.

Instructions

  • Marinate the Shrimp: In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add shrimp and let marinate for 15 minutes.
  • Cook the Rice: Cook your rice as per instructions. Stir in sesame oil once done.
  • Chili Lime Sauce: In a small bowl, mix lime juice, chili paste, honey, soy sauce, and zest. Set aside.
  • Cook the Shrimp: Heat a skillet over medium-high. Cook shrimp 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  • Assemble the Bowl: Scoop rice into bowls. Top with shrimp and remaining marinade.
  • Drizzle Sauce & Garnish: Add chili lime sauce and sprinkle with green onions, cilantro, sesame seeds, and lime wedges.

Notes

For a milder version, reduce the chili paste quantity.
