2 to 3lbtop sirloin steak or London broilsliced thin
1packet brown gravy mix
1packet au jus mix
1packet ranch seasoning
2 ½cupswater
Instructions
Arrange the steak.
Place the thin-sliced top sirloin steak or London broil in an even layer on the bottom of the crock pot.
Add the seasoning.
Sprinkle the brown gravy mix, au jus mix, and ranch seasoning evenly over the meat.
Add the liquid.
Pour the water over the seasoned steak.
Coat the meat.
Stir gently to distribute the seasoning mixture and coat all pieces of steak evenly.
Cook the steak.
Cover and cook on high for 4 to 5 hours or on low for 8 to 10 hours. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the steak slices and how full the crock pot is.
Check for doneness.
The steak is done when it is completely fork-tender and pulls apart easily. If possible, check the steak at the 4-hour mark when cooking on high or the 7-hour mark when cooking on low.
Avoid overcooking.
Do not continue cooking once the steak is tender, as sirloin may become dry or stringy if overcooked.
Hold warm, if needed.
Once cooked, switch the crock pot to the warm setting until ready to serve.
Stir occasionally.
If available during cooking, stir occasionally to keep the meat evenly coated in the gravy mixture.
Serve.
Serve warm over mashed potatoes, rice, pasta, or egg noodles.
