Ingredients

  • 1 lb hot sausage pork or turkey
  • 1 package cream cheese 8 oz
  • 2 packages crescent rolls
  • Dash of salt
  • Dash of ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  • Place the sausage in a sauté pan over medium heat.
  • Cook the sausage until fully browned, breaking it into small crumbles as it cooks.
  • Drain any excess grease from the pan.
  • Season the cooked sausage with a dash of salt and ground black pepper.
  • Add the cream cheese to the cooked sausage.
  • Stir until the cream cheese is fully melted and evenly blended with the sausage. The mixture should be thick, creamy, and spreadable.
  • Unroll one package of crescent rolls and place the dough on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Gently press the seams together with your fingers to form one solid sheet of dough.
  • Spread the sausage and cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough, leaving approximately a 1/2-inch border around the edges.
  • Unroll the second package of crescent rolls and place it over the sausage mixture.
  • Gently press the seams of the top dough layer together.
  • Press the edges of the top and bottom dough layers together to seal the filling inside.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the crescent roll dough is golden brown and fully baked.
  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the baked crescent layer to cool for a few minutes.
  • Cut into small squares using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  • Serve warm.
