Ingredients

  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • 12 tbsp salted butter softened
  • ½ c light brown sugar packed
  • ½ c granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 c milk chocolate chips
  • Additional chocolate chips optional, for topping

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Step 2: Prepare the Baking Pan

  • Lightly grease a 12-inch pizza pan, cake pan, or round baking dish with oil or butter.
  • Line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper to allow for easier removal after baking.

Step 3: Combine the Dry Ingredients

  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and kosher salt.
  • Set aside.

Step 4: Cream the Butter and Sugars

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened salted butter, packed light brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
  • Using an electric mixer, beat for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Step 5: Add the Egg and Vanilla

  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture.
  • Beat until fully incorporated.

Step 6: Add the Dry Ingredients

  • Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients.
  • Mix until just combined.
  • Do not overmix.

Step 7: Add the Chocolate Chips

  • Fold in the milk chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Step 8: Press the Dough Into the Pan

  • Transfer the cookie dough to the prepared pan.
  • Press the dough evenly into the pan, spreading it to the edges.
  • If desired, press additional chocolate chips over the top.

Step 9: Bake

  • Bake at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges begin to brown and the center is soft but set.

Step 10: Cool

  • Remove the pan from the oven.
  • Allow the cookie pizza to cool completely in the pan before slicing.

Step 11: Slice and Serve

  • Once cooled, slice into wedges and serve.
